Let's start with the cost, there's no doubt it's crazy high BUT a little goes a crazy long way so maybe it's not quite as expensive as it appears. As for the closeness of my shave, it's at least as close as what I thought was the best (Neutrogena) and probably even closer. My problem is my skin was a bit irritated the first time I used it...now, the irritation seems to decrease with each use (4 times) so it's possible I'm getting used to the product or getting used to a closer shave. I should note that I only shave every 2-3 days and I lose that clean shaven look by the end of day one. Therefore, I'm giving this product a pretty tough test with 2-3 days of growth but that's my standard so I think the comparison to my existing shave cream is fair. Finally, the last (and biggest) concern for this product is that it seems to dry out before I'm finished (could be another source of the irritation). I've tried the rewetting and that's only so-so. Reapplication works best so maybe I'm not using enough shave cream to start with. Once I figure out how to achieve optimal performance with eshave it may be the best thing out there but this learning curve is preventing me from reviewing it as favorably as everyone else.
One additional perk I like enough mention here...the eshave cream is "slippery" when applied but once I'm finished that "residue" washes off much easier than other products I've used.
